Hotel de Russie is the location of the main birthday dinner and where I will be staying for the weekend. It is pricey for what is offered, especially the size of guest rooms, so I don't expect folks to stay here. But, I wanted to provide it as a homebase for gathering.

Rome AirBnb's are top notch and don't have the negative trappings that U.S. short term rentals do, like large cleaning fees or tons of house rules.

Rates in tourist areas for 2-3 bedroom private homes range anywhere from $180-$350 per night.

I recommend looking for AirBnb's near Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, Largo Argentina, and Piazza del Popolo, as those areas will put you within walking distance of all of the birthday action. The areas near Termini, like Cavour, will put you close to public transportation.

Trastevere can be another lovely neighborhood to stay in but is further away from the weekend's events and can be loud/rowdy at night as the restaurants and bars hit their peak hours.

THE APARTMENT IN THE GARDEN is located in our internal garden and consists of two separate rooms with two bathrooms, excellent for families since parents can enjoy their privacy, while being near their children.

In the first room there is a double bed. The bathroom has a shower and a bathtub. In addition there is a small independent terrace with table and chairs. In the second room there are up to four single beds, a bathroom with a large shower and a small terrace.

Hotel Nazionale is situated between Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain. It is just blocks from the Pantheon. It's location is perfect for walking to and from birthday weekend events. The hotel is popular with American tourists given the size of the rooms compared to other local hotels. The building and area are historic and beautiful. The decor is very red/Roman, which can be overwhelming, but many of the rooms have more calming decor.

The hotel also has apartments available.

Rates range from $275-$400 per night.
